UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon appoints Mr. Stefan Schweinfest as Director of the UN Statistics Division (UNSD) effective July 1, 2014. Mr. Schweinfest, a German national, has been Acting Director of the UNSD since April 1, 2013. He succeeded Dr. Paul Cheung, a Singaporean national, who was UNSD Director from 2004 to 2012.
