The province of Camarines Sur was the country’s top tourist destination in 2012, according to the latest edition of the Philippine Countryside in Figures.
Camarines Sur had a record-breaking 2.5 million visitor arrivals in 2012. It was followed by Cebu and Aklan with arrivals numbering 2.2 million and 1.3 million visitors, respectively. Cebu province attracted the largest number of foreign travelers in 2012 with 997,303 foreign visitors. On the other hand, 42,094 overseas Filipinos preferred the province of Aklan as their vacation site. For domestic travelers, Camarines Sur was the top choice having recorded 2,005,609 domestic tourist arrivals.
