In order to lessen the impact of flooding in Marikina and nearby cities and municipalities brought about by overflowing of Marikina River during typhoons, 179 participants from 15 government agencies including Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office-Rizal (PENRO-Rizal) trekked the mountainous and hilly trail to reach the Upper Marikina River Basin and Protected Landscape situated at Barangay Pintong Bukawe, San Mateo, Rizal on 25 October 2013.
